Skincare is a much better investment than expensive makeup (long term)
Skincare markets itself as "health" and "wellness" to convince you the $150 for their new branded bottle of oil that targets whatever-the-fuck is necessary if you want to be healthy. It's a sham. Unlike makeup companies (they they can do this to an extent, too) they also have more liberty to simply make up problems you didn't know about to sell you the solution. And I think it's ethically questionable to position themselves periphery to healthcare. It's not. It's as cosmetic and unnecessary as make up. Notice the difference in the branding though - make up is fun, colorful, for getting dolled up, special occasions and going out. Skincare makes itself out to be REQUIRED if you're a healthy person.
Skincare
Skincare is a HUGE money pit. It's sort of marketing genius (and semi evil) because they can just create problems out of thin air and convince you you need to spend $100 on such and such product, and they've conveniently aligned themselves with "health' and "wellness' to convince you that it's just part of taking care of yourself.
Most of the skincare products you buy (after doing research on them) will be 99% satisfied with them and consume them all, while the cosmetics you won't be satisfied with and you won't be happy with and will end up using them only once or twice before throwing them away which seems like environmental waste huge
Skin care is very basic. I spend more time and money if needed to keep your skin healthy and balanced. Having a skin care routine makes you feel good about your appearance.
Stop applying makeup except for eyebrows and eyelashes, and now focus on your skin.To look 18 and take proper care of your face, you will have gorgeous skin and a hydrated texture without skin imbalances.
skincare routine is simple and takes a few minutes to do. love rocking your natural beauty and hope all girls can feel comfortable with being natural too.
Why skincare better-looking
That everyone's skin is different. Many people can recommend products, but at the end of the day, you need to find what works for you. Lots of trial and error, but once you find a good routine, its the best feeling ever.
Skin care can be a long-term investment. Following a good skin care routine can help preserve the healthiness of your skin for many many years. Future you may thank you.
Skincare can be affordable and efficient as well. Gigi Hadid uses drugstore skincare products even when she's the highest paid model. This is because she goes for regular lasers/ aesthetic facials instead.
for skincare, I would think of minimal very good basic products (cleanser, moisturiser, SPF), plus 2-3 products for changing needs (spot treatment, wound healing, maybe scar fading).
Remember when everyone was clustering their ikea drawers with huge collections of make up, as if they were professional make up artists? Can be fun but personally I'm quite tired of all the waste of money and products, and the clutter, and I definitely see the same trend in collecting excessive amounts of skincare now.
Expensive makeup
The cheapest makeup items that you will use will not be of good quality for you, because if you want to get great makeup you have to buy more expensive brands, but I am not sure if it is worth it.
Have you noticed any difference in using expensive makeup compared to cheap makeup? It is impossible to have the same result in using expensive makeup compared to cheap makeup because the big intelligence spends a lot of money on research and discovery of the most effective materials and works on good storage and quality of the material, so you will notice that there is a clear difference when using an expensive brand Compared to cheap brand.
You can't achieve a high-quality, long-lasting celebrity makeup look with affordable / drugstore makeup. There will often not be the same result if it does not have other effects, you just have to search for the best skin care products and pay attention to the use side and how to focus on that and you will get a result that competes with expensive makeup, but you will be natural.
A lot of people in the beauty business have told us that they love spending their money on taking care of their skin, as I cheap makeup brands don't hold up and a lot of cheaper cosmetic brands unfortunately don't cater to my skin! But I'm basically very picky about my ingredients for the most part, and it just so happens that the more expensive brands are usually (though not always) kinder to the ingredients they use and are better at creating a glamorous beauty or covering blemishes. And instead of spending a lot of money on expensive brands, many people go to skin care, because even after the years have passed, it will be better even than those who used expensive mascara at some point. The materials and composition of this chemical makeup must have its effects.
I find that clothes and hair can have much bigger impact on looking 'presentable", than makeup
This is a VERY good point. If you have a skincare regime and you skin looks decent, with good clothes and good hair you will already be perceived as "presentable" and "looking good".
